Easy to view threat levels

Always know the site you are on is safe

The following images will be shown in the Threat Status area of the toolbar.  Beside each is a brief explanation of why a site might be rated that way.

Many websites are actually made up of a number of parts.  These parts may pull from many different internet servers for advertising, banners, tracking users logins, etc.  The Safe To View toolbar rates the main site you are visiting.  This is usually the website as seen in the Address part of Internet Explorer.

Occasionally we may change the threat level of a site based upon the information from the local page, but normally only the main site rating is displayed.

Site is rated OK

Sites that do not contain any known problems are rated at this threat level.

Most sites in this threat level have been categories by site reviewers, or users like yourself.  Very few of these sites are automated.

If you don't agree with the category a site is place in you may vote to change it.

Caution recommended

The current site has been rated as a risky site.  This may be from users voting the site this way, or through our automated detection system.

Most sites in this category are placed here through automated means.  The computer algorithms detect a large number of web based threats.

Site is still loading

This graphic is shown until the page loading is complete.

Once a site has completed loading (and all of it's scripts / frames / parts) this graphic will be replaced with the threat level of the site.

This site is Unknown

This will happen if the site does not have a sufficient number of votes to classify it.

Many times we have already crawled the site and not found anything overtly malicious, but were unable to classify it using automated means.

Please take a few moment and vote on the site yourself.
